School Night at the Pantry is a nonprofit organization created to provide supplemental food to low-income families who may be chronically hungry in Geary County.

School Night at the Pantry provides food packages to the community identified as having the highest percentage of “chronically hungry” families. These families are identified through the number of children qualified for the free and reduced lunch program in USD 475.

Families must register with USD 475 to benefit from this program. For more information, call (785) 238-2156.

Children who intake adequate nutrition perform better academically and have more positive health and wellness outcomes. Parents who are able to provide adequate nutrition can focus on pursuing more positive outcomes for their families. With community support, School Night at the Pantry hopes to help combat the issue of chronic hunger in Geary County.
